God's covenant with Abraham contains 60 Promises. Genesis 17:
4-6 below contains several of them. All 60 promises are
listed for you (along with their Promise #) in Chapter
One in our book
What are Abraham's Blessings Anyway?
Now read carefully the first Scripture below. Pay close
attention to the phrases I have underlined for you.
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee,
and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall
thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be
Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And
I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations
of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Genesis 17:4-6
KJV
Notice, furthermore, the
fulfillment of the phrase, "thou shalt be a father of
many nations," was future to Abraham when this covenant
was constructed. The phrase, for a father of many nations
have I made thee," is a statement of fact telling
Abraham what God had already done with his future promise.
God had
already created the fulfillment of His promise before
Abraham ever saw the fulfillment of it!
God had already created the fulfillment of His promise
before Abraham ever saw the fulfillment of it! Think on this
a moment. God must have created the fulfillment of the
promise the moment He made it!
Now get the Apostle Paul's take on the above. Romans
Chapter Four gives his thoughts on this subject. Here's what Paul was dealing with in Romans Chapter Four.
God promised to make Abraham the father of many nations.
Then He told him that He had already made him the father of
many nations.
Yet, Abraham was childless. Actually he was about 100
years old and Sarah was about 90 years old when Isaac was
born. Actually, Abraham and Sarah waited about 25 years
after God made these promises before Isaac was born.
You will observe, in these
two simple Scriptures, that Abraham relied heavily on what
God had said to him. Read the Scriptures below and think
about them for several minutes.
(As it is written, I have made thee a
father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even
God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which
be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in
hope, that he might become the father of many nations,
according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Romans 4:17-18 KJV
Here's what kept
driving Abraham.
Here's what kept driving Abraham. God had said "I have
already made thee a father of many nations." Now
Abraham knew he was well past the age of child bearing.
Consequently, for him to have a child, God would have
to bring back to life that part of his body which was dead
or past the age of producing a child. In other words, God
would have to quicken or make alive, his body that was now
dead to childbearing. In addition, Sarah, his wife, required
the same.
In Abraham's case, because God could make the dead come
alive, God could "call those things which be not as though
they were." In other words, the only way God could fulfill
His statement, "I have made thee (past tense) a father of
many nations," was to make alive his reproductive organs,
along with Sarah's, because she too was past the age of
child bearing.
Then, Paul quoted another promise made to Abraham even
before the ones made to him in Genesis 17. He used God's
statement that the number of Abraham's seed would be limited
only by the number of the stars in heaven.
The number of Abraham's seed would be limited
only by the number of the stars in heaven.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look
now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able
to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed
be. Genesis 15:5 KJV
All of these promises and statements are gigantic and require
the powerful supernatural forces that only God
could muster. Why? Because God must bring to life again the
reproductive organs of both Abraham and Sarah for them to
have a son.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might
become the father of many nations, according to that
which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not
weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,
when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the
deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise
of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving
glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he
had promised, he was able also to perform. Romans
4:18-21 KJV
Any hope Abraham had in the natural was silly by now
because it was hoping against hope. But not if God quickened
the dead here. Therefore Abraham built his hope on "that
which was spoken: So shall thy seed be!"
He no longer considered how dead his body was. He no
longer considered how dead Sarah's womb was. He did not
stagger at any of the above through unbelief. Instead, he
gave glory to God for what he knew He was about to do. He
became fully persuaded that God had the power to do what He
had promised.
When God makes a promise
to us, He creates the fulfillment of that promise at the
same time He makes it.
Faith Builder: When God makes a promise to us, He creates the fulfillment of that promise
at the same time He makes it. He only
waits to manifest the fulfillment of it until it is His time
to manifest what He had
promised (the fulfillment of which He has already created
out of nothing.)
In other words, when God makes a promise that has a
future fulfillment, He creates out of nothing the complete
fulfillment of that promise. Then He manifests the complete
fulfillment of it when He reaches His time for its
manifestation. This is a game changer.

Important Correction!
In my November 8th Newsletter to you titled, "Can we
Christians claim God's Old Testament Promises? Yes!" I
instructed you to go to a link called, List of Eight
Things to Help You Know How to Tell if you could claim
an Old Testament Promise or Not.
The link should have carried you to the first section in
Chapter Two in the books below, What are Abraham's
Blessings Anyway? The List of Eight Things was titled
Method of Scripture Analysis Used used in this book.
Therefore, when either of the books below are on your screen, go to
Chapter Two and read the first section entitled,
Method of Scripture Analysis Used
so you can know how to tell which promises from the Old
Testament you can claim as a Christian.
Do not look for a List of Eight Things. Look for a
section called Method of Scripture Analysis Used.
