God answers prayer

He answered prayer In the Old Testament

Ps 138:3
3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. (KJV)

Notice here that God answered and strengthened him in the very day when he cried to Him.

He answered prayer in the New Testament

John 14:13-14
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. (KJV)

Notice here that this seems to give us an unlimited menu of prayer choices. This should be limited only by 1 John 5:14-15.

God answers prayer in time of trouble.

Ps 50:15
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (KJV)

In this Scripture, deliverance is promised, whether in the same day we call or at a later time. The point is that God answers prayer that is prayed in the day of trouble.

Ps 91:14-16
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (KJV)

Again, the answers to your prayers comes in the day of trouble. Furthermore, deliverance comes from God out of the trouble you are in. He even honors you with a long, satisfying life. Praise God!

But in what kind of trouble?

He answers your prayer when you are in distress.

He answers your prayer when you are in affliction.

Ps 106:44-45
44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. (KJV)

Notice here that the Psalmist bases God's regard for our affliction on the Abrahamic covenant. And all this was occasioned by our cry. When affliction of any kind slams you against the wall, cry out to God and help is on the way.

He answers your prayer when you are poor and needy.

Isa 41:17-20
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. (KJV)

When we call out to God in our poverty, God will hear us. He will also not forsake us. He also gives us the very provisions we require to alleviate our need. Look at verse 18 above. He made water in four different  places. Yes, God answers prayer when called out by the poor and needy.
