here. In Galatians 3: 9, “with” is a key word. It really packs a wallop. It is used when the Greeks wanted to say that “two or more persons share a common experience.” Gal 3:9 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. (KJV) In other words, those of us (Christians) who are of faith, share the same exact, identical experience of “blessing” that Abraham himself experienced. What, then, was his blessing? (Actually, the Greek word used here for “with,” is the Greek word “sun.” This word means more than just “with.” It means “together with.” This signifies that we can actually experience healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation “together with” faithful Abraham.) The word translated “bless” that Abraham experienced, includes healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation. If we are to experience the same thing he experienced, then we too must have healing, prosperity, family well being as well as salvation for our souls. Three Scriptures that explain it simply To show you that this is the case, look at the Scripture examples below where “with” is used to demonstrate that when this word is used, two or more persons do indeed experience the same identical thing. John 12:2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. (KJV) In other words, Lazarus shared the same identical experience of “sitting at the table” that Jesus himself experienced. John 18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. (KJV) In this passage, Jesus experienced the same identical “brook crossing” that the disciples experienced. John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. (KJV) Here, the disciples tell Peter that they will share the same “a fishing” experience that Peter is about to enjoy.
It can readily be seen in the above Scriptures that the word “with” is used to signify that two or more persons are experiencing the same identical thing. From the above, then, we can see exactly what Paul meant when he said we that are of faith (Christians) are blessed “with” the faithful Abraham. He tells us very plainly, here, that the same identical blessing that God gave Abraham belongs also to us. We can experience the same healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation that our father Abraham experienced.
How can this be? Because we are grafted into the same Abrahamic covenant, right along with Abraham himself. We are also grafted into the Abrahamic Seed Group right along with Abraham. Let the above sink into your spirit man for a moment. You and I who are of faith (Christians) can experience the very same things Abraham himself experienced. We too have access to the same provisions of the Abrahamic covenant. Why? Because when we receive Christ as our savior, we are grafted into the same covenant in which Abraham stood. There are 60 promises in the Abrahamic covenant and we Gentile Christians are included in at least thirteen of them. Therefore, we, too, are Abraham’s seed by grafting. We, too, are covered by the term “blessed” in both the Old and New Testaments. We, too, are covered by God’s promise of healing, prosperity, family well being as well as salvation.
