Since we are grafted
into the Abrahamic covenant right along with Abraham, we need to see how
Abraham actually got what God promised him in this covenant. In other
words, what did he do to receive the content of the promises? There are
three things Abraham did that we must do also to get our promises.
Hebrews 6 gives us the first two of them.
Heb 6:15
And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (KJV)
1. In Chapter
Three of our book, The Unbroken Force of Abraham’s Blessings,
we show you the meaning of the word obtained in the above verse.
Obtain means get upon. Abraham “got upon” the specific
promise God gave him that filled his immediate need.
He got upon his promise and rode it like a bucking horse. He
stayed on top of his promise till he rode it down and got the
fulfillment of it.
2. Now see the statement above, “after he had patiently endured.”
In other words, Abraham was not deterred by the lapse of time between
the giving of the promise and the time when he received the fulfillment
of it. Neither should we be deterred by the gap of time when we get
upon our promise and the time when the answer comes.
So much of the time there is a gap between the time we get upon
the promise and the time we see it come to fulfillment. During this gap
we should not be deterred. We must stay on top of our promise
till we ride it down like a bucking horse. Remember also that our every
need is contained in God’s covenant with Abraham: healing, prosperity,
family well being and salvation.
3. Finally, we must find a specific Abrahamic promise that meets our
specific and immediate need. Remember that God's covenant with Abraham
contained healing, prosperity and family well being for you in addition
to your salvation.
What you need, then, is
a specific promise in one or more of these categories. Here is one
Abrahamic Scripture Promise for you in each of the healing, prosperity
and family well being categories.
This is one of my all time favorite Healing Scriptures: Isaiah
53:5 "With his stripes we are healed."
This is probably the most comprehensive and powerful of all
Prosperity Scriptures: Proverbs 3:9-10 "Honour the LORD with thy
substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy
barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new
wine."

covers all the bases: Isaiah 44:3 "I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed,
and my blessing upon thine offspring:"
