Jesus made a statement that was both prophetic and mind boggling.

John 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (KJV)

Of course we know that a lot of what the Holy Ghost says to us is what God said in Scripture. One such Scripture is Psalm 91, which concerns the secret place.

Specifically, I want to you to see that the word "because" is used in only three places in this chapter: in verse 9 and verse 14. In verse 14, "because" is used twice. Let's look at each verse separately and see "what' in it for me!"

Ps 91:9-10
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. (KJV)

We all know that this verse transitions to Jesus himself. But there are also great blessing in it that pertain to us when we make David's Lord our habitation too.

Notice two things in the verse above that happen for us by just making God our habitation.

#1. No evil shall befall us. Think of this! No evil! He did not say, "Most evil will not befall us." He said, "No evil shall befall us."

#2. No plague shall come nigh our dwelling. Think of this also! No plague of any kind shall even come near our dwelling, let alone come into our dwelling.

No evil, no plague shall come on us or near our dwelling. What powerful promises. Jesus said the Holy Ghost would show us these coming things based on  what he heard from God. Now look at the blessings in verse 14. 

Ps 91:14-16
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (KJV)

#1. Inside God's secret place, because we set our love upon Him, God promises to deliver us from what? From all evil and all plagues, that's what!
#2. Inside God's secret place, because we know His name, God will set us on high. Then the blessings of  verses 15 and 16 add to our shielding also.
#3. We shall call upon Him and He will answer us.
#4. He will be with us in trouble.
#5. He will deliver us.
#6. He will honour us.
#7. With long life will He satisfy us
#8. He will show us His salvation.

All the above come to us because we made it our business to make the Lord our habitation and deliberately choose to dwell in the secret place of God.

Ps 91:1-2
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (KJV)
