Three Free Things God Already Gave Us

here. The three verses below give us three things we don’t have to worry about any more. We don’t have to worry about them because God has, past tense, already given them to us. Read this Scripture very carefully.
Col 1:12-14 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (KJV) 1. We have already been made fit to partake in the inheritance of the saints. We do not have to do this or that to get ourselves fit. God himself has already made us fit. The very moment we receive Jesus, His final sacrifice for sin, He instantly fits us to partake of the inheritance of his saints in light. You can put additional religious stipulations to the fitting process, showing a million things for you to do to help God get us fitted. But these stipulations are futile. God has already fitted you based on your acceptance of Jesus, His final sacrifice for sin. 2. We have already been delivered from the authority of darkness. Notice again the past tense used in this statement. It is past tense which shows our deliverance has already occurred. Notice also that we do not have to do for ourselves what God has already completely done for us. Again, you can add all kinds of additional, man-made, religious stipulations to this. But the point is this: those stipulations are useless. They will not improve one bit what God has already done for us. We are already delivered from the power of darkness. “Delivered” translates the Greek word for “rescue.” In other words, we have already been “rescued” from the power or authority of darkness. Obviously, this power or authority refers to the devil and his kingdom. 3. God has already "translated" us into the kingdom of his dear son. Our English word,” translated," here, translates the Greek word that means “to change where we stand.” The expression, "the kingdom of his dear son," should be translated, literally, "the kingdom of the son of his love." Since Jesus is the son of his love, he has to be "his dear son." The point is this. God "changed where we stand." We now stand in the kingdom of the son of His love, the very moment we accepted Jesus, his love child, who was and is his final sacrifice for sin under Moses' law. We all know well-meaning people and denominations who add stipulation after stipulation to this "change of where we stand." Add as many as they will, not one of them is necessary to God changing where we stand. Not one of them will help it at all. God already finished this work. We are already "changed" into it. 4. Because of the above three awesome, completed works of God on our behalf, we are now having and are keeping on keeping on having redemption. "Redemption" translates the Greek word which means “loosed on receipt of ransom.” In other words, Jesus paid the price or penalty for our sins and God accepted it. Now we are released from any and every claim against us for our sins the very moment we accept Jesus, his final sacrifice for our sins under Moses' law. This statement is in the “present tense.” The most common use of the Greek present signifies continuous action or state of being in present time. This means that, according to verse 14 above, we have and are keeping on keeping having redemption, even the continuous forgiveness of our sins. Yes, well-meaning folk add stipulation after stipulation, but it does not help our release from sin's penalty at all. Jesus paid it all or he didn't. Praise God! We are told here that we have continuous release now because our ransom has been paid in full, in the past, with no stipulations at all. We are continuously having and are keeping on keeping on keeping on having redemption.
