Who is this Jesus? |

Jesus is more than the Son of God. He is God!
Get your free bonuses we promised you
here. He was and is God in a human body but I want to go a different direction here. Hebrews 2 and Galatians 3 give us that direction.
Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. (KJV)
Jesus was the seed of Abraham. He could have come as an angel but he came as the seed of Abraham. As such he delivers the Abrahamic blessings of healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation to both Jew and Gentile. But how does he deliver these blessings to the Gentiles? He first had to redeem the Jews from the curse of the law before these blessings could come on the Gentiles. How did he redeem the Jews from the curse of the law? By his death of course.
Gal 3:13-14 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (KJV)
But how did his death enable
the blessings to come on us Gentiles? In his death, Jesus did six things
to the law that enabled these four Abrahamic blessings to come on the
Gentiles. He broke it down, he abolished it, he slew it, he blotted it
out, he took it out of the way and he nailed it to his cross. See
Ephesians 2: 14-16 and Colossians 2: 14. With the Law of Moses gone, the Jews are redeemed from its curse, which included death to the Gentiles. Now we Gentiles are free to receive Jesus as our savior and be instantly grafted into the Abraham Seed Group right along with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
When Jesus was born, God opened his blessing source and said help yourself to the whole world. We Gentiles were no longer restricted from Abraham’s blessings because that which had barred us was broken down, abolished, slew, blotted out, taken out of the way and nailed to his cross. Now the blessing of Abraham has come on us Gentiles. Now we are receiving the promise of the Spirit, or more accurately translated, we are receiving “what the Spirit promised.”
In the light of all the above, what should be our attitude towards Christmas this year? Surely we can get past the commercialism and selfishness. Surely we must recognize Christmas as the birthday of the Christ Child. We must honor him on his birthday at least as much as we honor other loved ones whose birthday we celebrate.
Without Jesus, we Gentiles would still be on the outside looking in. Had Jesus not completed the six things to Moses’ law, we would still be on the road to hell with no hope of getting off. Remember his words in John’s gospel.
John 3:17-18 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
He said “he that believeth not is condemned already.” We Gentiles are born condemned. We could not get out of it till Jesus abolished the curse of the Law, which kept us out. Now through Jesus, we have full access to God and the Abrahamic blessing stream. This stream enables us to move from “condemned already” to “saved forever.” This year let us keep Christ in Christmas. Let us honor Him. Let us recognize where we would be apart from him. Happy Birthday Jesus. Happy Birthday. Let us give as much to him as we give to others this year. Remember! Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. It is not the birthday of everyone else we give to at Christmas each year. Let us give the best gifts to him. Again we say, “Happy Birthday Jesus!” Happy Birthday. You got rid of that which kept us out of the Blessing stream of Abraham. You enabled our grafting (by the New Birth) right into it. Thank you Jesus. Happy Birthday.
