Introduction to PERRISEUO
which means to make rich
PERRISEUO is a Greek word which means to make someone extremely wealthy.
Baur, Arndt, and Gingrich, on Page 651 in their wonderful Greek lexicon (dictionary,) declare that this word means to be rich, even to be extremely rich. This is true, they assert, whether the word is used transitively or intransitively.
Follow with me in the following three Scriptures. We will show you three New Testament examples of this word.
All three of them show that that one of the major uses of PERRISEUO means to make rich or to make wealthy.
The context of the first verse below is simple. Jesus is teaching them not to covet for material things. See for yourself.
Luke 12:15
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. (KJV)
Look at the word abundance in the verse above. It translates the Greek word PERRISEUO and one thing is obvious here. This word has to do with material things or material wealth.
One would have to be blind not to see material things or wealth in this verse. We can safely say that PERRISEUO, at least here, pertains to wealth.
The background of the next Scripture is also simple. In it, Jesus compares the giving of material wealth and substance from the rich men to the giving of material wealth and substance of a poor widow.
They gave out of their abundance or overflow. She gave all that she had. She gave her living. He implies that she gave more than the rich man did.
Luke 21:4
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. (KJV)
In these first two examples of PERRISEUO, the obvious screams at us; this word is used to describe material wealth in both contexts above.
Abundance, in the above verse, translates our Greek word, PERRISEUO, just like it did in the first verse above.
Now, look below at the third New Testament example of PERRISUEO. Here our word is used twice and is translated abound.
In the other two verses, it was translated by our English word abundance. We have the same Greek word in all three verses, but here we just have a different English translation of it. Here it is translated by abound.
2 Cor 9:8
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (KJV)
Here it really gets interesting!
Now watch closely. Here it really gets interesting.
The first use of PERRISEUO in the verse above simply means that God is making all His grace abound toward us.
Here’s another way of saying it; God makes all His grace make us extremely wealthy (abound.)
Here’s another way; God forces all his grace to make us extremely wealthy.
Can we honestly interpret this word this way in this context? Absolutely yes. Why?
Because the entire context here is this; Paul equates giving with sowing and reaping. Sowing gives us a return of 30, 60 or 100 fold.
In the case of our giving our material wealth in this context here, we receive a financial return just like sowing corn, cotton or wheat seed gives us a return at harvest time.
In this context, then, if we sow enough material wealth, we will get back enough to make us rich. Read on…
Why Does God Promise to Make Us Rich?
Why does God promise here to make us rich? The answer is in the last use of our word in the verse above.
He said that He makes us extremely wealthy through our sowing, so that we might make His every good work extremely wealthy also.
Again, PERRISEUO, is translated by our English word abound. In other words, He wants us to abound or make extremely every good work of His. Do you see it?
God will make you rich to the extent you use some of your wealth (abundance) to make rich and wealthy every good work of His that you have the opportunity to sow into.
In this way, you have the same opportunity to amass wealth that anyone else has. You can sow. You can sow into every good work of His.
That sowing is your key to wealth in this world. Our book, How to Amass Abrahamic Wealth, has a full treatment of this subject.
Why Many Feel Tithing Has Not Worked for Them
Many feel that tithing has not worked for them because they haven’t been made wealthy yet.
In a real sense, tithing is not the sowing here. Tithing is maintenance. The Tithe is what belongs to God.
He said it is His and bringing it into His storehouse (where you get fed) has some powerful benefits (His rebuking the devourer for our sakes is one of them) but this is not the main “get wealth key.”
Actually, there are two offerings in Scripture which loosens the money flow for you. There is the First Fruit Offering and the Every Good Work of His Offering.
Although we are not dealing with the First Fruits Offering here, let us clear up a misunderstanding about it. Some mistakenly believe the Tithe and the First Fruits Offering are one and the same offering. This is not so.
The Scriptural Distinction between the Tithe, the First Fruits Offerings
and the Every Good Work of His Offerings
The following verse shows they are not. Read on and see the distinction made in Scripture concerning these three offerings.
Neh 12:44
44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited. (KJV)
Three distinct offerings: (1) the offerings, (2) the firstfruits and (3) the tithes. Three distinct offerings.
We hope you believe that our Ministry is one of God’s every good works. We have dedicated our life to it and to you these many, many years.
This Every Good Work Offering (we hope you feel this one qualifies) brings the most results and brings them quicker than the other offering. I don’t know that I can give you Scripture for the above statement. It has just been my experience for many, many years now. Try it and see.
